WHAT IS THE VINYL DISCOGRAPHY COLOR CODE?

When a vinyl record is pressed, the manufacturer first pours Polyvinyl Chloride pellets into a hopper, which feeds the material into an extruder that condenses them into a small puck shape referred to as a biscuit. The machines hold these vinyl biscuits in place as the labels are placed above and below.

Black - Original pressing

Red - 2nd pressing*

Blue - 3rd pressing

Yellow - 4th pressing

*Carolina 2nd pressing is black, but stamped as a 2nd pressing.
